Logistics & Delivery

The number that matters

During a promotional peak like Black Friday, daily order volume can be multiplied by more than 12. The whole challenge is absorbing that surge without slowing down fulfilment or degrading delivery.

Prepare for the peak one to two months ahead

An activity peak isn't prepared from a revenue target alone. Translate your sales forecasts into a logistics workload plan:

  • Estimate the volumes to handle: orders per day, average number of items per order, and the split between single-item and multi-item orders.
  • Secure your supply: anticipate best-seller replenishment, factoring in supplier lead times and any seasonal delays.
  • Make stock reliable: run an inventory of picking locations two to three weeks before the peak, then fill the locations of the most-requested references.
  • Size your resources: adjust headcount, shifts, packing stations, trolleys and consumables to the expected volume.

The goal: turn sales forecasts into a realistic operational plan before the orders arrive.
